What is the difference between an online and offline dictionary?

Offline dictionaries do not need an internet connection, while online dictionaries require an internet connection.

All Babylon dictionaries work online and offline. In order for it to work offline, the dictionary or glossary must first be downloaded and installed.

If you are using the free version of Babylon, please keep in mind that you can't translate while offline and will need to purchase a license.

Open Babylon click on Menu, then Settings

Click the Dictionaries tab.

Click the Add Dictionaries button to download and install one of our free dictionaries or glossaries, so that you will be able to work offline without any internet connection.

There are a few exceptions. "Smart dictionaries", "Full Text translation" and "Wikipedia dictionaries" are all only available online.
